hurc wants to decorate like a pro

So after hockey this afternoon, I come home, sit in front of the computer to check email, and Joey is channel surfing. She picks up this show that holds both our attentions. It's about one of those As Seen On TV products, called Easy Crown Moldings, an easy do-it-yourself moldings for your home. It looks so flimsy, made of this cheap thin plastic that you just stick to the wall with a self-adhesive you peel off. The testimonials were so cheesey, you couldn't help but laugh. But the best part was the slogan they kept repeating: Anyone can decorate like a pro!

Does anyone actually fall for this shit?

hurc's low tolerance for alcohol

A couple friends of mine had extra hockey tickets last week. The Washington Capitols were in town to face our red-hot Habs. I usually have to work until 8pm, but I managed to finish a bit early and split an hour early. The game was at 7:30pm, plus I work 30 seconds away from the Bell Centre.

By the time I met up with the guys at the Cage Aux Sports, they had already been drinking for about 2 hours, finishing pitcher after pitcher of cheap 2-for-1 happy hour beer. I was told I had some catching up to do, so there I go chugging down a couple of beers before the game. This is before the puck even drops.

We start heading to our seats, and I didn't realize until we sat down how amazing our seats were. We had tickets for the Desjardins section, which is the same section that was previously sponsored by Air Canada. In this section, all food concessions except for beer were free. That's right, free. That means, free hot dogs, free pizza, free smoked meat sandwiches, free hamburgers, free fries, free ice cream, well, you get the picture. However, the beer was 8.75$ per cup! The coke was free, but we stuck to the overpriced beer anyway.

So we drank and we ate, and then drank some more. To be honest, I don't remember much of the game. But I still think I was more sober than my buddies. At one point, while I was making a comment about a play, he turns to me, but he had his left eye closed. At first, I didn't really think anything of it, thinking that he may have had dust in his eye, or maybe he was making eye contact with a girl sitting behind us. But after about a minute of his eye being closed the whole time, I ask him what was wrong with his eye. He says that he was pretty drunk and that he was seeing double. To be able to follow the game, he needed to close one eye to follow the play.

All in all, it was a great night. The game went into overtime when it shouldn't have, but we scored with 1 minute left of the overtime to win it.

I'm definitely going to try and get tickets to see some more games, even in the playoffs. Any one interested, let me know.
