Snow Storms, Office Parties and Lamp Chops

The first snow of the year means the first shoveling of the year. In night between Thursday and Friday, Montreal received about 40 cm of snow. For once, the weatherman was right. I shoveled for a good 15 minutes, killing my back in the process. After sufficiently clearing a small path for my car to get out of the driveway, I get stuck in the snow about 50 feet away. A couple friendly neighbors helped me push my car out. As I'm driving off, I hit a patch of snow that makes my car swerve a bit to the right, and I hit a snow bank. After getting myself out of that mess, I finally get on my way to work. Took me an hour more than I usually do to get to work. But if you think what I went through was unlucky, I know it took most people hours to get to work that day. So many people opted to work from home, as demonstrated by the virtually empty parking lot in front of my building.

As I get into work, I feel completely exhausted. And I knew I had a long day ahead me. That day was also our Office Christmas party. Part of the festivities were held at the Office, and in the evening, we all headed to Le Skratch for the food and pool. No drunken bets this year, but it was still lots of fun.

Saturday was a lazy day. I hardly did anything at all. Just sat in front of the TV and computer. I watched the Habs lose to the Wild, in a game where we led 3 times. The Habs are really in trouble now.

Sunday was my usual hockey game. As I've mentioned before, I'm usually one of the 2 regular goaltenders. But this time, we both got to play out and we put 2 rookies in nets. They were pretty good considering their positioning wasn't that great. As for myself, my cardio is decent from playing goalie, but I hadn't played out for a while. After the game, I was completely exhausted and my legs were killing me.

Still, I found the energy to go out to dinner with Daich, John and Stan. Went to this Portuguese place called Chez Doval. I was the only one who'd never been, but the others seemed to be fond of the food there, if not the service. I had the lamp chops and man, were those good! I've become a new fan of lamp chops.

So I wake up this morning and my body feels pretty stiff. My lower back was aching, and imagine a million needles poking your thighs everytime you run... or stand up... or just move your leg...

Blog? What's a blog?

Wow. I haven't updated this blog in 16 days. But not only me, but look at Joey, Amy and Daichi's blogs.

Anyway. did I have a point to this post? Actually, no I didn't. But I promise I will write some irrelevant crap once I get back from my hockey game today.
